Visit the Telebay "opportunity" website and have a good look around.  Look at all the products you can sell and see if there's a category that interests you (internet phone, broadband, long distance, satellite, cellular services, etc....).  You don't want to start out selling all products, because this is way too difficult in the beginning - so pick a niche that is interesting and exciting to you.  If you find a category of products that really sparks your interest, and sounds like something you would enjoy learning more about, imaging how you could promote this product line as a Telebay representative.  If you can see yourself getting excited about this product and making money writing about it on the web or promoting it in person, then sign up as a Telebay rep.  If nothing in the Telebay mix of products/services peaks your interest, it's best to look elsewhere.  In order to make money by marketing someone else's products, the first rule of thumb is "you have to have a keen interest in the products".

Think about how you would market the product

If you find a product category that really sparks your interest, GREAT!!!!  Before signing up as a Telebay rep however, ask yourself how much time you're willing to devote to marketing these products, and determine how you will market them.  Most Telebay products can be effectively marketed online or offline, or using a combination of both.  Internet marketing can consist of promoting your free Telebay website, building and promoting your own informational website (like this one), buying a domain name and pointing it to a certain Telebay product (Packet8, Sunrocket, Vonage, etc...), or a combination of all these things.  If you're considering offline marketing, you could get an 800 number and advertise the service (customers call you and you sign them up online), include the service as an offering within your existing business, mail order, or even set up a booth at a local fair or flea market and offer to sign people up.  I use both online and offline marketing techniques to promote my Telebay products.
